Designs and builds optical systems; sub-assemblies, from deep ultraviolet/UV through far-infrared/IR, for industrial, medical, commercial, aerospace and military applications. The group, located in southern NH, is looking for a technical Manager of Engineering to come aboard!



Job Description:

Lead a Mechanical Engineering team in an organization that is matrix based. Will be responsible for technical oversight, resource allocation, and professional development of the mechanical engineering group. Will also be directly involved in the development and design of opto-mechanical systems for visible, infrared/IR, and ultraviolet/UV systems across the range from prototyping to full production devices. Some travel may be required.



Basic Qualifications:

• BS/Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent with a min. of 15 years in industry.


• Five (5) years minimum management and leadership experience of an ME team that included technical oversight, resource allocation, and engineering tools (analysis, design, reporting, etc.) management.


• Must be fluent in SolidWorks - other CAD packages are nice, but not necessary.


• Must be knowledgeable about mech. requirements and issues pertaining to mounting high-precision optics, physical field-stress conditions, and the affects of extreme environments.


• Must have the ability to conceptualize and define architectures, design, develop, and document prototype efforts and support projects through the manufacturing process.


• Ability to interact with customers and suppliers in technical areas relating to the project.


• Experience in volume manufacturing environment and/or with handheld electronic/electro-optical/EO systems is a plus.

• Reference-able leadership skills and having the ability to be a team player.


• United States citizenship is required
